- 9. The Gorge
The Columbia River Gorge is a National Scenic Area where the river cuts a steep walled gorge through the Cascade mountain range. The climate ranges from rain forests at the west end to barren desert at the east end. Wind funneling through this gorge creates epic windsurfing conditions while the many rivers and the looming presence of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adam make the area a mountain biking, kayaking, fishing, skiing and snow boarding mecca.
Here are some random photos showing the beauty of this national treasure.

- Mike's Sculptures & Mosaics
Hard to call me an artist since I do metal work and mosaics more out of boredom than inspiration but some of this stuff is interesting. At least to me.

- Baja Pizza Oven
This is the type of project I do on windless days. 2500 pounds of refractory brick, 50 blocks of ceramic insualtion and hundreds of pounds of mortar. Next year the dome part will become the canvas for a mosaic that is still evolving in my mind.
